Holy Crap! the birth of a comedy show
by Egoslut on Jul.01, 2009, under Blogging, Comedy
Hey Internet! So, if you follow any of this regularly or have seen any of my other sites, you know that in my offline world I’m a stand-up comic. I have been doing it off and on for over 20 years but only in the past year or two have I really taken it seriously. Comedy is a fantastic outlet, personally. I love everything about it; the writing, performing, promoting, comedians themselves. Everything!
I got into it when I was in college. I have been performing in some way ever since I was a kid. I started with music. Later, I got into theatre which led to me going to college to get my theatre degree. While I was there I met my friend Ian Boothby, a brilliantly funny guy. He was doing stand up regularly at Vancouver’s original comedy venue, (continue reading…)

So, this was supposed to go up yesterday, but it ended up taking way longer to render than I thought it would. I promise I’ll get better at this. Here is what I am calling episode 2 of my videobog. I think we have the basics now to start going into a bit of a regular format. I have a couple of other podcasting ideas that are going to start being put up here, just to see what you guys think. If you like this stuff. tell your friends. Give me some tweets and plugs on your Facebook. Today’s episode is all about what is right with Slumdog Millionaire and what is wrong with Street Fighter 4. The new look is well under way, too. I think it’s going to be pretty cool.
Holy Crap! 2
by Egoslut on Jun.23, 2009, under Shows
That’s right, Holy Crap is back in the month of March. My first night running this made it deadly clear that this is Montreal’s rowdiest comedy show. This night will hopefully be no different.
**UPDATE:
The lineup is going to be awesome. Come on down and check out Eman, Faisal Butt, Kris Dulgar, Asaf Gerchak, Kwasi Thomas and Chason Gordon. Also we’re on the air. I will be doing in an interview with Paul Aflalo’s show Watercooler Talk on CJLO radio. Tuesday March 3 at 8am. You can also listen online here.
Holy Crap! 6: No one hears you scream
by Egoslut on Jun.23, 2009, under Shows
So I was walking down St-Laurent and I thought to myself “Hey Devil Dan! Do you know what people really like?” “What?!” I answered. “High Fives! How can anyone have a problem with high fives? They are totally boss! We should high five as many people as we can.” And so began the evening that ended in the emergency ward. Some people DON’T like high fives.
Oh yeah, and there’s another Holy Crap! coming too. That’s right, Montreal’s rowdiest comedy show is back and is fully armed!
Interactive Evil productions’ monthly comedy show includes the best in Montreal comedy and the best in Montreal’s rowdy, drunken bar patrons and puts them together for single night of no holds barred amusement.
This show is fast becoming THE show to see and we fucking dare you to come out and join in the fun. This is the only show that wants you to heckle and say something. Hell… it double-dog dares you.
Performing this month: Mike Meo, Joel West, Trevor Forestell, David Heti, Eman and featuring Dan Bingham. As always, it is hosted by the only man to banned from a comedy club for religious reasons and the man who high five’s with his face, Devil Dan Derkson.
Best part is…. IT’S FREE!
So, come on down to the Cock n’ Bull and enjoy the silent scream of comedy.
Watercooler TALK’s last morning show
by Egoslut on May.12, 2009, under Watercooler Talk
So, Watercooler TALK is moving from Tuesday morning to Monday afternoon. It is going to be so nice not having to get up at 6:30 in the morning to do this. We also are planning some really cool things for when we start the new show on June 1. Today, I have the last hour of the show due to some technical difficulties, but it is a fun hour. The topic of the morning of course is Star Trek. Cool or just awesome? Take a listen.
